Overview

Indonesian securities navigated the early-2016 turmoil better than those of most EMs: local sovereign bonds surged and equities outperformed, bolstered by the strengthening rupiah. The turnaround was driven by external conditions, increased infrastructure spending, strong portfolio inflows and structural reforms.
