The Priority National Project (PNP) recognises the inbalance in the birth- and death-rates of the population and the low life-expectancy.
It sees the fundamental problems in health care as a shortage of doctors; worn-out medical equipment; insufficient diagnostical equipment; poor utilisation of high-tech equipment; under-funded vaccination programmes; underfunded health education.
The PNP's principal aim is the improvement of the overall health of the population by making primary medical care more readily available; raising the quality of health care; providing greater access to high-tech equipment. Ultimately the goal is improved general health and lower levels of illness, invalidity and death-rates.
