Deepak Gopinath

Deepak joined Trusted Sources in 2007 as the lead analyst on commodities and the global supply chain, trade and shipping, as well as consumer trends across the BRICs. He also jointly covers Indonesia, focusing on politics, policy and governance as well as infrastructure, energy and commodities. He has written extensively on agriculture in the BRICs and other EMs, and draws out the global market impact of agricultural developments in these countries. He also covers hard commodities (steel, coal, rare earths in particular) when changes in EMs drive global prices.

Deepak has more than 15 years’ experience as a researcher and commentator covering international finance and emerging markets. Deepak was formerly senior writer at Bloomberg Markets and Institutional Investor magazines. He is based in New Delhi.
