India Monitor: Why food inflation remains a persistent problem

Overview

The decline in India’s rate of inflation was clearly shown in the February data released over the past week: continued deflation in the wholesale price index for the fourth month in a row and the consumer price index (CPI) at a relatively moderate 5.4 per cent.
