FX Scorecard: EM FX as the dust settles
An analysis of EM FX along lines of vulnerability to broad categories of external risk: financial tightening, commodity prices and dependence on exports, offers a starting point; but there are exceptions. MXN, RUB and CNY are particularly exposed to the Trump’s policies, while INR and BRL are likely to be driven by domestic events. For other currencies, investors will favour structural reform and sound policymaking.
