China property sector UPDATE: Latest tightening measures won’t kill underlying demand

Overview

The Mainland property market has been in turmoil since the State Council’s announcement, at the beginning of March, of new measures – including a 20 per cent capital gains tax – aimed at blowing the steam off several months of frothy housing price and sales growth.
