Brazil: Temer stokes fears of delayed transition

Overview

Less than two weeks after President Michel Temer was engulfed in Brazil’s largest-ever corruption probe, Operation Lava Jato (“Car Wash”), most of the country’s opinion-makers have come out in favour of Temer’s early exit. But two big obstacles must still be overcome for this to occur. The longer it takes, the worse it will be for the economy, which could tip back into recession....
