Brazil: No sign of relief for the embattled Dilma administration

Overview

Recent attempts by the Dilma administration to recover popular support appear to have failed for now. According to the latest survey from polling firm Datafolha, Dilma’s disapproval rating is once again on the rise; and support for her impeachment and for her to resign from the presidency is also at a record high. To make matters worse, the Operation Lava Jato (“Car Wash”) investigation continues to increase pressure on the administration and on politicians across the spectrum....
