Brazil: Dilma gains some breathing room in Congress

Overview

President Dilma Rousseff chalked up a much-needed victory this week against her current political nemesis, Speaker of the Lower House Eduardo Cunha, following the election of pro-government Rio de Janeiro Congressman Leonardo Picciani as the leader of the Brazilian Democratic Movement Party (PMDB) block in the lower legislature.
