Should Brazil's credit card companies fear the regulators?

Overview

Anxiety about possible changes to Brazil’s credit card industry has been growing since a March 2009 report from the Banco Central and antitrust regulators recommended increasing sector competition and transparency. Although the Banco Central will probably issue its final detailed recommendations on this issue shortly, any major change to the industry will need congressional approval.
